CASINO OPERATORS MR GREEN, GAMESYS ADD SPORTS BETTING IN TIME FOR EURO 2016

Online casino operator Mr Green has launched its new Kambi Sports Solutions sportsbook in time for the kickoff of Euro 2016.

The Stockholm-based Mr Green announced its intention to diversify beyond its traditional casino roots in February and inked a deal with Kambi in April. On Tuesday, Mr Green officially unveiled its new product ahead of schedule but right on time for Friday’s Euro 2016 opener.

Mr Green CEO Per Norman claimed that the new vertical was “of the same high quality” as its mainstay online casino product while claiming that his company was able to build its new sportsbook “in record time thanks to our new, efficient product platform.” Kambi CEO Kristian Nylén stole a little of Norman’s thunder by crediting the ahead of schedule launch to his company’s “agile integration capability.”

  GAMESYS LAUNCHING METRIC-POWERED BETHOTSHOT.COM

They’re cutting it close to make Euro 2016 but Gamesys Ltd is another online casino operator planning to branch out into the sports betting world. On Monday, the company announced it had struck a deal with Nevada-based sports betting tech providers Metric Gaming to power Gamesys’ new online sportsbook Bethotshot.com, which is currently only a teaser site but will reportedly launch for real on Friday.

The deal will see Metric build Gamesys a web-based and mobile sportsbook using Metric’s SuperLive platform. It’s the first full third-party sportsbook deal for Metric, which currently provides golf odds for operators like BoyleSports and Amaya Gaming’s Betstars site.

Gamesys CEO Lee Fenton called the sportsbook addition “an exciting step” for his company, which sees “tremendous potential in Metric’s technology.” Metric president Peter Bertilsson reciprocated, saying Gamesys also “build great technology so we are honored that they recognized the power of our platform.”

Gamesys appears determined to establish itself as a full-spectrum operator, having added a real-money online poker offering in April via its Virgin Games platform. Assuming the Bethotshot launch goes smoothly, plans are afoot to launch a separate betting site for the Virgin Games brand.
